By the time I got myself a ready it was another night ride... when I got dressed it was in the high 50's but when I finally got ready to ride it was in the low 50's. I thought it would stay at this temperature during the ride, was big time wrong! It dropped down to the mid-upper 30's, I was freezing. Near the beginning of the ride I altered the route so I could get the mileage without needing to go longer in the middle. While I was on this change I passed another rider going the other way, he had lights front and rear just as bright as mine and setup similar to my bike, I was surprised. I waved but it was so dark I doubt he saw me waving as I could not see him waving if he did. I continued to my turn around point about 1/2 mile down the road. I picked up my pace to see if I could catch him. I finally got to a point where I could see his flashing lights, and I was gaining on him. all of a sudden the lights disappeared, so I thought he turned off. I continued to my route and about 1/4 mile further I saw the lights again so the chase was back on. He makes a right turn so I followed. He was now 50 meters ahead of me, I catch him at the light, asked if he would mind if I rode with him and asked how far he was going down the road. I'm not sure he understood me the light changes and I was behind him we go a short distance and he waves for me to pass so I did... he slows down so I figured he didn't want to ride together so away I go and altered my route so I could get back to where I was going. 2.5 miles down the road he was so far back I couldn't see his lights behind me. I get to Vincentown and decide to take a road I hadn't ridden on in the direction I would be going, in over 8 years. The road was in horrible shape, littered with pot holes, bumps and you name it. One of the worse 4 to 5 miles of road I've ridden on in along time. I won't using that road again unless it is totally repaved. I finally get to Rte. 70, 15 miles to go and feeling like a Popsicle. I picked up the pace in hopes to warm up and power thru the wind. It was a great ride down Rte 70 even though it was busy with speeding traffic and mile markers every half mile. Another great adventure night ride! Be safe out there, Enjoy Your Ride!
