The weather is nice and cool. Winds somewhat turbulent from the South East. I chose to go to the Alpine Forest. I wore arms, knees, head cap and a sheet of newspaper. I made it to the summit of OTR in good average time. After reaching the summit, I pulled over to remove the newspaper from my jersey. From there, it was mostly non-stop riding. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation, so I was on high alert. After making it to Arosa, I was able to relax and find my tempo. I was doing no less than moderate tempo, in and out of the saddle. The climb went quick. I was in the mid 150 BPM HR, so I had some matches left to burn. I zipped around the backside. I think the GPS misread my maximum speed. It was over 40 MPH, but no telling by how much. Maybe I'll check the metrics elsewhere. After reaching the summit of Banducci, I pulled over to recover and let traffic by. Shortly after, I headed back down the mountain. The wind was mostly a headwind, but turbulent. I was a bit skittish descending off the Banducci Wall. There was turbulent wind conditions and I had traffic from behind. I had to coach myself to stay calm. Suffice it to say, I reached the base safely. The return on OTR was mostly fun and games. I pushed over Mariposa and then back home. I shut it down at the top of Weston. Concentration was good with minimal lapses or gremlins. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Some mild hand soreness and numbness. Gear worked flawless. Nutrition was good. I think I had a hint of hunger signs in the first half of the ride, but my sport drink got me through it without suffering. Other notes, I saw one cyclist today.
