I got up a bit late. There is a scheduled power outage today. The power went down at around 8:05 AM. Nevertheless, I got out at around 11:15AM-ish. The weather is fantastic. It warmed up a bit. I wore arms, knees, head cap, and a thick base layer. I made it to the summit of the descent in good time. The wind was special. It was mostly calm, but slightly North West as I was making my way out to Keene. I put in two digs on the riser. I fumbled the gears on the second riser. I made it to the base of Keene in 25 minutes and change. When I reached the base, I removed my headcap and got back on the road. As I was nearing the Chavez center, I noticed I was getting warm, so I stopped again to remove my knee warmers. From there, it was non-stop till home. The legs felt good. The air was cool. I was doing no less than moderate tempo. I was putting the power down while out of the saddle and in the saddle to recover. Somewhat extended interval training. I did this for the duration of the ascent. I was counting the landmarks and keeping the mind focused. The morale got better after each landmark, I was doing high tempo on the last mile. I pushed it over the top. I made it there in 1:03 hours. So, real good time today. From there, I made my way home and shut it down at the top of Weston. Concentration was good. Minimal lapses and gremlins. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. I had to feed a few grapes and Gatorade as per the delayed departure. Ailments, some hand numbness while digging out of the saddle. Gear worked flawless. Other notes there was utility work being done on WTR, hence the power outage. They are controlling traffic, but did not delay my ride. There were no cyclists today.
