I was trying to decide where to go today. I narrowed it down to the Alpine Forest or the Walmart Bike Path. I decided on the former. The weather was ideal. Winds from the North West, in the 50's. I wore arms, knees, head cap and jacket. I was sufficiently warm through out the duration of the ride. The legs were a bit heavy to start, but came around pretty quick. I made it to the summit of OTR in good average time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation. I was relieved when i made it to Arosa. I was able to relax a bit and get on with business. The miles went quick. The morale was good. I was near max going over the top. I made my way around the backside. The dips were safe and fun. I made it to the summit of Banducci in about 53 minutes. From there, I took a few moments to recover, let traffic by and headed back down the mountain. The descent was safe. Minimal traffic from behind. The descent off the Banducci Wall was safe. The wind was steady. I was feathering the brakes most of the way down and let it go towards the bottom. It felt like I was on rails. From there, I made my way to OTR and made my way down the descent. It was mostly fun and games. I pushed over Mariposa and made my way back home. I shut it down at the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. I was in the zone for most of the ride. I was a bit impatient to start, but the concentration got better as the ride went on. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. I fed half a banana and some grapes before the ride. It held me over. I drank most of my sport drink, no water. Ailments were minimal. Some hand numbness going over the top of Arosa, while out of the saddle. Gear worked flawless. Other notes, I saw two casual cyclists today.
