I had lab in the morning. So, I lost about an hour in the morning. When I got back, I prepared some oatmeal and then took a quick hour nap before getting up to go for a bike ride. The weather was perfect for a Keene ride. I wore a long sleeve jersey, thick base layer, arms, knees and a head cap. I was sufficiently warm, although the downhill was starting to get a bit chilly. I made it to the top of the descent in good time. I cruised the downhill. I took it easy on the risers. Mostly out of the saddle, but not too much digging. After making it to the base, I headed back, no stopping. The climbing legs settled in and I was able to get on with business. I had a few things to think about. I was feeling somewhat impatient to start, but that went away. The landmarks went quick. The wind was modest. Perhaps a bit from the South East. I was doing mostly in and out of the saddle efforts. In the saddle to recover and out of the saddle to bring up the tempo. I was keeping an eye on ailments. They were minimal. After reaching the summit, I was able to relax a bit and then head back home. I shut it down at the top of Weston. Concentration was good. Minimal lapses, no gremlins. Balance and form felt good. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I went through most of my sport drink. No water. Gear worked flawless. Other notes, I saw two cyclists as I was making my way down. I caught up to them on the ascent. There were lots of motor cyclists. None of which waved.
