The weather was great today. in the upper 70's to low 80's. Very comfortable and winds from the north. My legs felt pretty good today. I was fully warmed up by the time I reached OTR. I felt strong up the Banducci wall and to the Summit. I did modest tempo on the downhill. I did a speed run about half way down, hitting 40mph+, that was a treat. I made my way to SS at just above moderate tempo. I wanted to save some for the return trip. I reached the summit of SS in good time, around 1 hour. I'm not sure, but it looks like the metrics are off. Ahh, it isn't off. It shows my overall time, not the moving time. OK, so then, I reached the SS Tunnel/Bridge in around 1:01hrs +/1 a minute. I reached Boss Hogs in under 1:20hrs. I was doing good tempo as soon as I exited SS. My legs were with me the whole way. When I reached the final ascent, I was pretty much hammering. There was a youngster who bridged behind me. I was able to ride him off my wheel. Shortly after, I got a rear flat. I remember hitting a stick or rock. It must have given me a snake bite. The slap in the face was, when I got a second flat as I was going through the ranch plateau. I think I put the wrong inner-tube in the tire. When I fixed the first flat, I was on the side of the road where there were a lot of leaves and such. I must have confused the flat inner tube for the good one. Stupid me... So, I had to get warmed up 2 x. My legs were heavy after fixing each flat. Needless to say, I resumed my fast tempo until I made it home. Ailments, today was a good day for ailments. My calf muscles felt great, and so did the rest of my legs. My lower back felt strong. I had a slight numbness in my right hand, but it didn't linger. Concentration was good, but not great. I had some lapses here and there. My balance is real good. I'm going to step up my squat training, because I think it's helping a lot. Other notes, I brought my new phone and tested it on the top of Banducci and SS. The data worked on both locations. I hope the new AT&T SIM will work better in the house.
