I went riding with Peggy today. We went to the Alpine Forest. We got out around 9am. The weather is starting to heat up. It’s in the 80’s and will reach 90 by the later afternoon. The legs felt pretty good. It was just that first 20 minutes of acclimating and getting through the sleepy head feeling. I made it to the summit of OTR in average time. We regrouped periodically. The Banducci Wall went quick for me. I was able to increase the tempo going up Arosa. We regrouped at the top. From there, we made our way around and to the Banducci summit. I reached 41 MPH on the downhill. After reaching the summit, we took some selfies and headed back down the mountain. It was mostly fun and games from there. I pushed over Mariposa and shut it down at the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. The awareness of riding with company made it easier to focus on the ride. Balance and form was good. Ailments, the right knee feels much better. My right hand was a bit sore to start, making it difficult to hydrate from the bottles. I found a technique that worked, so no worries on that. Ailments were minimal. Some hand numbness while out of the saddle. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, I saw one cyclist as I was nearing the entrance to the Alpine Forest.
