With the promise if a fine sunny day thirteen loiters followed me out of Uxbridge to Chalfont St Peter via Tatling End for elevenses at The Myrtle Tree Cafe. We took up quite a lot of room so it was fortunate that John had made arrangements for the medium ride to take over the cafe in Budgens.
As we left the cafe we observed the other ride heading up to Gold Hill ahead of us. We too cycled up Gold Hill and made our way to Gerrards Cross and on to Hedgerley Lane. A fast coast downhill followed by a slower ascent over the motorway and a gentle coast downhill found us at The White Horse in Hedgerley, our planned lunch stop. As usual the beer and food where top notch and it was with reluctance we left to continue the ride.
We rode down past the pond and turned into Kiln Lane which was a bit mucky and continued past Calamity Cottages and Pennlands Farm to join the A355 for a short distance to the Yew Tree Indian Restaurant where we turned into Parish Lane. Continuing on we passed One Pin crossroads before turning into Gipsy Lane en route to Stoke Common. Making our way along Templewood Lane John J had a puncture which was soon fixed and we continued on to tea at Black Park via Holly Bush Hill and Rowley Lane.
After tea we cycled along very mucky trails churned up by traffic to the film set on the green. we also met more vehicular trace in the park than we had seen on Rowley Lane. We returned to Uxbridge via Chandlers Hill with the party dispersing along the way.
