I was undecided whether to ride in our out doors. I got up around 6am today. I had stuff to do. I took my morning nap around 11:30ish. So, that delayed my departure till after 2pm. Nevertheless, I decided to ride out-doors. I wore the winter kit and my jacket. Temperature around 40 degrees + wind chill. I felt good from the start. Didn't take much time to get warmed up. The legs felt responsive. The cool air helped, especially on the uphills. When I reached the summit of Banducci, I was convinced to do the Tour de Teh (R) route. So, that's what I did. I brought my face mask, so going down the mountain wasn't too painful. I put it in cruise control around CV. Doing no less than moderate tempo. On the last climb, I sort of tested myself. This will be the last climb of the day, come GranFondo 2018. I wanted to see what it would be like to put the pedal to the metal. I felt good. Redlining the better half of the ascent. I had no ailments to hinder me, so my HR was maxed when I reached the summit. I should have set the GPS to the Watt/Kg screen, but forgot. I was doing over 200 watts on the steeper sections. Probably closer to 300. After reaching the summit, it was recover and make it back home. I think I made the right choice in not doing the SS loop, as it was late in the day and was starting to get colder. Concentration was spot on. Balance and form felt good. Ailments, none. Gear is working well. The Gopro twist bolt came off as I was ascending Banducci. I turned around to pick it up and put it back on. Other than that, no issues. Other notes, no other cyclists today.
