I tried to get up around 6AM, but I slept through the first alarm on my smart phone. Nevertheless, I was able to get out around 8:30-ish AM. When I got out, I headed down the street and realized that I forgot my bottles. So, I did a 180 and went back home to grab my bottles. That added about 2 minutes to my ride. The legs felt pretty good to start. They feel mostly recovered. I made my way to the summit of the descent in good average time. I had to do the math since I had to take into account the additional two minutes from the start. I cruised the downhill. I put in to digs on the risers and stopped once to take photos of the local train passing through the loop. It was turned in on itself and not moving. Apparently, there were several trains trying to make their way through this area. After reaching the base, I headed back, no waiting. I was anticipating it it be hot at the base. Turns out that it was just warm. It didn't take much time to get acclimated. I went on with business. The landmarks helped me stay focused. I was feeling better in the concentration as the miles went on. I tried my best to maintain a patient stance. I stretched on the dips and kept my tempo going over the top. After cresting the summit, I took a few moments to recover and then headed back home. I pushed over Weston and shut it down after making it to the top.
Concentration was good. Minimal lapses, no gremlins. Patience was in check. Balance and form was good. Ailments, hand numbness out of the saddle. The legs felt good. No cramping or nerve soreness. Nutrition was good. I drank most of my powder drink and some water. I had plenty left over. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, no cyclists today.
