Today was a recovery ride. The weather has gotten cold. I wore more layers today. Arms, Knees, jacket, head cap, two socks. I was comfortable for the duration of the ride. The legs were average to start. I stopped once on OTR to take photos of pack of goats grazing in a field of weeds. I made it to the top of OTR in average time. From there, I made my way to the top of Highline, no red-lining it. I did the circuit around the Buffalo neighborhood and then headed back on Highline. On my way back I was thinking to myself to stop at the top of OTR to check the Komoot app. I totally forgot when I got there. It seems to be a bad habit. I guess I got distracted by something. The descent off OTR was mostly relaxing. I pushed modestly over Mariposa. Around this time, I realazied that I forgot to stop and check the Komoot app. So, I stopped at the top of Mariposa to check it. I think I’ve got the hang of it. It should prove its worthiness on the Spooktakular ride. Around this same time, the GoPro camera just stopped recording. I checked the battery charge and it was around 40%. So, I restarted the video. A few moments later, it stopped again. I think the battery went bad. I tried another spare battery that I had. From that point on the Camera was more cooperative. From there, I headed back home. I shut it down at the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. A bit of impatience at the start. Balance an form was good. Ailments were minimal. I had some mild left achilles tendon soreness that never escalated, but was noticeable. Otherwise, the body felt good. Gear worked flawlessly, with the exception of the GoPro camera. I will bring three batteries plus the battery bank for the Spooktacular ride. Nutrition was good. No hunger signs. I drank half my powder drink, no water. Other notes, I saw two casual cyclists today.
