It's a great day to get out! The weather is in the upper 50's. Mild but slightly turbulent winds from the North West. I decided to bring my jacket. I wore arms, knees, head cap and a thick base layer. The legs felt a bit heavy to start. The ascent up OTR felt like I was going into a headwind. I was starting to get hot, too. I made it the to of OTR in average time. I decided to remove my jacket at this point. It turned out to be a good decision. The climb up the Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation. I had some remaining matches when I reached the summit. The Alpine Forest climb felt better. The landmarks went quick. Before I knew it, I was at the speed bumps. I was near max, but had matches to burn when I reached the top of Arosa. I made my way around the backside. Again, feeling like I was going into a headwind. From there, I made my way to the summit of Banducci. When I got there, I took a few moments to recover. I put my jacket back on. Shortly after, I let traffic by and headed down the mountain. There was minimal traffic from behind, so it was mostly safe. I let traffic by before descending off the Banducci Wall. After making it back to OTR, it was mostly fun and games. I did a moderate push over Mariposa and shut it down when I made it back to the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. I had stuff to think about and that made the miles go quick. No gremlins to speak of. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. I ate half a banana before departing. I drank about half my sport drink with some water. Ailments were minimal. Some hand numbness. I was getting a bit sore in the stomach in the first half of the ride. It was very mild, so I decided to drink some water. That seemed to help. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, I saw one cyclist today.
