It’s a bit windy, turbulent, from the South East. The weather is a bit warmer then the last ride. It made for a good day to go to the Alpine Forest. The legs felt good to start, I made it to the top of OTR in good average time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation. I was near max going over the top. I was able to settle into a sustainable tempo when I reached the Alpine Forest. The time went by quick and so did the landmarks. I was near max at the top of Arosa. I took a few moments to recover on the bike and then made my way around the backside. I had fun on the descent, reaching about 43 MPH. From there, I headed to the summit of Banducci. Once there, I took a few moments to catch my breath. I let traffic by and headed back down the mountain. There was a headwind, so I just relaxed and enjoyed the ride. There was some traffic mitigation, so I let them by. The descent off the Banducci Wall was cautious. There was a slight crosswind, so I feathered the brakes on the way down. After making it back to OTR, it was mostly fun and games. I stopped once to pet the local horse. From there, I headed back home and shut it down at the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. Perhaps a bit on the impatient side today. I have to be somewhere this afternoon, so I guess I was a bit anxious. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Some hand numbness on the upper slopes of the Alpine Forest. Nutrition was good. I fed half a banana and some grapes before the ride. I drank most of my sport drink, no water. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, I saw just one cyclist today as I was making my way up OTR.
Other notes, the power meter didn't start, so I had to manually pair it somewhere in the middle of the ride.
