I was planning on going to WS + Wind Farms. But I needed a bit more time to work out the logistics. So, I did the Keene + Alpine Forest + Tour de Teh route instead. The weather was much better. Still warm, but the air was a bit on the cool side. The legs felt good from the start. I made it to the summit of WTR in good average time. I cruised the downhill, soft pedaling. I turned around at the the base, no stoppages. I followed the usual procedure of landmark count-offs. I had a tailwind, so it was getting hot, but nowhere near un-bearable. I was in and out of the saddle. On some occasions, I slowed the pace down after the steeper parts of the climb. Otherwise, the usual stuff. I called home for bottles when I reached the summit. I took a few moments rest and then headed to the lockers. I waited for about 1 minute or two when mom got there. I swapped bottles and headed out. I took on some water while I was at it, and an extra Cliff Bar. OTR went quick. I was already warmed up. Banducci was the usual dig with traffic mitigation. When I got to the Alpine Forest, I put it in an easy gear and let my body adjust. a few minutes later, I was able to settle into a better tempo. I counted off the speed bumps when I got there. After reaching the Banducci summit, I took a few moments rest. Hydrated, and ate 1/2 a Power Bar. While eating the Power Bar, I noticed the consistency was a bit off. I only ate half. Shortly after, I headed downhill. Practicing the tuck, enjoying the moment. Getting to SS was the usual trek through the farmlands. My legs were getting heavier, but just a bit. I felt it when I reached the backside of SS. I made my way through SS and headed back. The morale was getting better from this point on. (It was actually quite good for most of the ride). I was thinking about the last climb before I got there. Somewhat narrating, as if I was trying to explain to someone how it is. About half way up the climb, I noticed my stomach started to hurt. It felt like it didn't agree with something I ate. That could only be the Power Bar. Otherwise, I was drinking Cytomax and that rarely upsets my stomach. I was relieved when I reached the summit. I was trying to stay hydrated, easy on the Cyto, more on the water. After reaching Route 202, I ate 2 Pepto pills (for the first time). The stomach pain lingered. When I reached Moriposa, it started to feel a bit better. By the time I got home, the pains were nearly gone. Concentration was good. Few lapses, and focused. Ailments consisted of some hand soreness, the stomach pains for the last 20 minutes of the ride. And the usual exhaustion pains. Balance and form felt good. Gear worked flawless. The Gopro is working great, and should last about 7.5 - 8 hours with the battery bank and installed battery. Other notes, I saw about 5 cyclists today.
