The weather is great! Winds from the North West, temperature in the upper 60s. I was reluctant to get up for today's ride, but glad that I did. I was planning on going to the Banducci Summit, but decided to go to the summit of OTR and then to Keene. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the summit of OTR in good average time. I was able to recover and mentally prepare for Keene. I made it past the mailboxes in about 36 minutes. From there, I headed to the top of WTR and down the descent. I cruised the descent and put in two digs on the risers. I was going to take a bio in the bushes, but there was someone parked nearby, so I decided to go to the base and try again on my way back. I don't recall the time to the base. Nevertheless, I headed back without hesitation. The temperature was ideal. Sunny, but comfortable. I stopped once to take a quick bio and then got back on the road. The ascent went quick as I was aided by a tailwind and mostly cool air. The morale felt good, too. I was listening to the GPS announcements. The readings seemed accurate, but a bit low on some occasions. After the second dip, I was feeling better in the morale and patience. I was listening to the music and was calculating how many songs to the summit. It helped my mind from going stale. I kept my momentum going over the top. After cresting the summit, I took a few moments to recover and then headed back home. I put in the usual dig up Weston and shut it down at the top.
Concentration was good. I kept my patience in check. No gremlins to speak of. I was in the zone most of the time. Balance and form felt good. The shoes are great and so is the postion. Nutrition was good. I fed some grapes, Clif Bar and Gatorade just before the ride. That held me over. Ailments were the usual hand numbness while digging. Gear worked flawlessly. I purchased new disc rotors and brake pads. The brake pads are worn out and need changing. ETA, Thursday or Friday. Other notes, I saw one cyclist today. There appeared to be workers doing something at the Loop Monument.
