I wasn't sure what to expect today. I got out a bit late. The stomach wasn't agreeing 30 minutes before the ride. I ate a Cliff bar of flavor that I've never tried, Toffee, something. It was too sugary and the stomach didn't like it. Took some Pepto, slept for 20 minutes and then got up. I also got the new drink, Accelerade in Berry flavor. I first tried it with half a cup of water. It tasted sour. I then, mixed one scoop in a large water bottle, and then headed out. The wind was from the South East. So, favorable for a WS ride. I made it to the end of OTR in good average time. The body felt responsive. The way out to WS was mostly moderate tempo. It was a game of patience. Probably took 50% more time to get to the turn-around point. As anticipated, I had a generous tail-wind on the way back. I was doing 20+MPH most of the way back. I was able to push it over the top. The descent headed to Banducci was a treat. Pushing the big gear, downhill, and a tailwind. Nearing 40MPH. The remainder was mostly fun and games and keeping concentration. Concentration was good. Actually better than I expected. No gremlins today. Balance and form felt good. Ailments, next to none. The lower back felt good. Gear is working perfect. Other notes, I saw 1 other cyclist today.
