The wind was going the opposite direction. I decided to go through the Alpine Forest, instead of doing the SS loop. The legs felt pretty good from the start. I was sufficiently warmed up by the time I reached the end of OTR. Given the wind conditions, I had a tail-wind most of the way up Banducci and the Alpine Forest. I was maxed out when I reached the end of Arosa. I made my way through and onto Banducci. When I reached the summit, I took a few moments rest and let the traffic by before I commenced the descent. It was a bit unusual at first. I couldn't tell if the wind had changed directions. About 1/4 mile into the descent, it became apparent that it was still going the same direction. Fortunately, it wasn't turbulent. I was able to practice my tuck on a few occasions. Maxing out at just over 40 MPH. The return trip was more or less what I had anticipated. Into the wind, hellish, and testing my patience and concentration. The wind was constant, so I was able to settle into a slow tempo. No redlining. Just turning over the pedals in moderation. I was out of the saddle every now and again to stretch the body and legs. I was happy to reach the last climb and it went pretty quick, all things considered. From there, I tried to recover on the false flat and mostly fun and games from there. Concentration was good, for the most part. A bit sketchy at times when going into the headwind. There were some gremlins, but not too persistent. I knew what I had to do, so I just stayed focused. Balance and form felt good. Ailments, some lower back soreness. Gear is working well. Other notes, I saw 1 cyclist today as I was ascending OTR.
