Today was raining outside, as was predicted. I decided to ride indoors, no surprise. I chose the Mountain Route. Before I started, I tried to figure out how to get mom's PC to follow me as I ride. I almost got it to work, but wasn't able to figure it out in time. I probably spent an extra 15 minutes, delaying my workout. Nonetheless, I got my ride in. I think I got my approach for this route. I'm consistently getting around sub 27 minute ascensions. Most of the time is spent out of the saddle. Oddly enough, it's my hands that limit my ability to remain out of the saddle. They just get sore from holding the hoods while putting in the wattage. I'll have to figure out a way to mitigate that. I kept the pace between 3.5 - 4 Watts/Kg. Up until the summit, where I was pushing between 4 and 5 Watts/kg. Then the bonus climb. Doing more of the same, 3-4 Watts/kg. From there I made my way back to the start/finish. I tried to keep the pace between 2 - 3 Watts/kg on the flats and a bit more on the rollers. Concentration was good. Ailments, next to none, but hand soreness was somewhat detracting. Balance and form felt good. I had to stop on one occasion to reposition the block raiser for the front wheel. Other notes, There were about 4000 riders in the start, 3000-ish in the end.
