Today was snowing and unrideable. I opted to ride indoors. I chose the Mountain Loop on Watopia. Setup today was quick. I tried to get the mom's PC to follow me, but it worked for about 10 minutes, and then stopped. Neertheless, I got my ride in. The body felt good from the start. Took about 10 minutes to get to the base of the climb. The first 1/4 mile was warmup. When I got to the bridge, I put in a slight effort, then backed off to about 20 watts/kg. When I reached the end of the bridge, I got out of the saddle and got into the wattage tempo that I'm used to, between 3 and 4 Watts/kg. At that point, there was another guy that was putting in similar wattage. We rode near eachother for most of the climb. When I reached the tunnel, I knew I was going to hold him off. But not sure if I was ahead of him in time. After making it through the bridge, I recovered on the downhills, and kept the power down when I reached the risers. Then the last 3 to 4 minutes, i was doing over 4 Watts/kg. In the 5 range after about 1 minute to the summit. I got there in 8th place. Doing good time, I think under 26 minutes. From there, it was the bonus climb. Putting in a steady effor of no more than 4 watts/kg. After that, I headed back to town. Calculating my overall time to the start/finish. I was right on, by my estimation. About 1:02 hrs. I put in a modest dig in the sprint zone. Concentration was good. Few lapses. Some places took longer by perception, otherwise, most of the ride went quick. Balance and form felt good. Ailments, next to none. Gear is working great. I put a folded newspaper under the left leg, of the trainer to level it. I think it may have helped. Definitely didn't hurt. Other notes, I think there were over 2000 riders today, on this map. The default was the London map.
