Rest day yesterday with a 'three castles' walking tour at Bellinzona which wasn't really a rest!! Quite steep getting to the top and rather warm.
Today's ride was the one planned for two days ago so with fine weather forecast this time we boarded the train again and headed to Goeschenen. I decided to ride from there so repeated the first 6km to Andermatt then turned left and up the zig zags to the Oberalppass at just over 2000m. The clouds were nowhere to be seen so absolutely stunning scenery with razor ridge mountains were par for the day.
A big downhill to lunch (local Swiss equivalent of Mac n Cheese) at Disentis followed by the second climb of the day to the Lukmanier Pass once again a great climb of around 850m to just under 2000m. The effort of climbing is rewarded with not only great views but the promise of a wicked downhill and we were indeed duly rewarded with a drop of 1650m over 40km...a speedy return to well deserved beers at Casa Biasca
