Now is the time to do shorter rides. Hence, the Alpine Forest Summit n Back for today. The weather is cool, but warmed up quickly. Winds from the North West, in the low 60's. I wore arms, knees, head cap, thick base layer and a couple sheets of newspaper in the jersey. The legs were a bit heavy to start. I forgot my water bottles when I started. Fortunately, I was just around the corner when I headed back to grab them. I was bit upset because I was doing good on time. Nevertheless, I made it to the top of OTR in average time. It felt like I went faster. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation, but not in excess. I felt better after reaching the Arosa climb. The second half went quicker than the first. I zipped around the backside and had fun on the downhill. I made my way to the top of Banducci. After letting traffic by, I headed back down the mountain. Descending off the Banducci Wall was mostly safe. The wind wasn't too turbulent. I feathered the brakes as I progressed. Then I made my way down OTR. Mostly relaxing. I pushed over Mariposa and then to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. I was impatient to start since I had to waste time going back to get my bottles. After half way up OTR, I was doing better in the morale. Balance and form was ok. A bit wonky to start. Ailments, the usual hand soreness. Everything else felt ok. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal, half a banana, and some grapes for breakfast. I drank most of my sport drink, no water. Gear worked flawlessly. The brakes feel good. I was hearing hints of mystery clicks as I was in the Alpine Forest area. Pending further confirmation on the next few rides. Other notes, no cyclists today. There were walkers, one of which was familiar.
