The weather is cool and comfortable. The wind was from the North West, temperature in the mid 50's. I wore arms, knees, head cap, thick base layer and newspaper in the jersey. Turned out to be the right combination of layers. The legs were a bit heavy to start. I felt better after reaching the top of the descent. I made it there in good average time. I cruised the downhill and put in two digs on the risers. After reaching the base, I headed back up the mountain. I stopped once at the Chavez Center to remove the newspaper in my jersey. I kept the other layers on. I didn't overheat on the climb. I was a bit impatient to start, but it got better as I passed the landmarks. I was doing in and out of the saddle efforts, no heroics. After passing the second dip, the morale and patience felt better. More so after reaching the "bridge". I kept the tempo going over the top. After cresting the summit, I took a few moments to recover on the bike and then headed back home. I pushed to the top of Weston and then shut it down.
Concentration was good. I was a bit impatient on the downhill. After riding the first 15 to 20 minutes on the ascent, my patience got better. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Just the usual hand soreness. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal, half a banana and some grapes for breakfast. I drank about 2/3rds of my sport drink, no water during the ride. Gear worked flawlessly. The bike is nice and quiet, but I did here some ever so slight hints of mystery clicks from the bottom bracket. I will likely bring it in to get an adjustment to the bottom bracket threads that appeared rough the last time I swapped out the bottom bracket. Other notes, I saw one cyclist and a few motor-cyclists as I was on my way back from Keene.
