Yesterday, I was doing my usual stuff. I went to the small office to get something and I hit my knee against the chair. It hurt pretty bad. I had to take a few moments. I knew it was going to hurt for a while. It caused a bruise on the top of the knee cap. To make a long story short, I've been icing it as much as possible. I was thinking about today's ride. I wasn't sure if I would be able to go the entire distance, or even get out to ride. I made the decision to go and do a minimum of a half ride. I got out. Made my way to the summit of the descent. The knee was sore, but it wasn't impossible sore. I couldn't put all my force on it, but I could put enough to complete the ride. I made my way down and when I got to the Loop Monument, I decided to continue instead of turn around. I think I made the right decision. After reaching the base, I turned around and headed back. The knee was still sore, but it wasn't too detracting. I tried to keep the cadence a bit on the high side. That seemed to help. It's in the 80's now, but there's high clouds so, no direct sunlight. It was a comfortable heat. I was able to work up a good sweat. The landmarks went fast. Before I knew it, I was near the summit and intact. My knee is still sore, but it isn't worse. I'm guessing it will take another 4 to 5 days for it to heal. Concentration was good. Few lapses. I was in the zone, all things considered. Balance and form felt good. Ailments, the right knee (as mentioned), right hand numbness. Gear worked great. The bike continues to have mystery clicks, even after removing an unneeded spacer on the left crank. The Charity Miles app didn't start, so no charity ride today. So upset about that! Other notes, there were a few people at the loop monument as I was descending. There was a train passing by as I was nearing the Loop Monument.
