Today was the first pseudo double leading to the TGF. The weather is great! In the 70's. Clear skies. Mild wind from the North West. The legs felt average to start. I was taking it easy up to OTR. Continuing easy to moderate tempo to the summit. Getting there in average time. I made my way up Banducci. Red-lining over the top. The up Arosa through the Alpine forest. I was in the red when I reached Alps. I took advantage of the flat section to recover a bit. I made my way to the Banducci Summit. Took a few moments rest and let traffic by. Then the downhill. Fun and games. Practicing my tuck. The trip to SS was no less than moderate tempo. After reaching the front entrance, I took a few moments to stretch and recoup while on the bike. I made my way up to the back entrance, out of the saddle for most of the brief climb. The downhill was fun. Approaching 40 MPH. I sped through SS, no stopping. I had plenty provisions. The trip through the farmlands went fast. I had a tail wind most of the way. I was trying to calculate how much I was away from a 1:20 hrs pace. I got to Boss Hogs in about 1:38ish hours. So, about 18 minutes off. Attributed to the Alpine Forest add. I got to the last climb. Started to make my way through the mountain. My GoPro stopped recording, so I had to swap out batteries. That took about 1 minute. I restarted the video, but 30 seconds later, the camera stopped. Complaining about the SD Card. I decided to just keep going till I reached the summit. I made my way over the summit, no pushes. As planned, I pulled over to swap out batteries and then headed back out. From there, mostly traffic mitigation on Route 202 and fun and games through OTR and to home. Concentration was good. My morale was high. I had a few things to think about and I was enjoying the weather. Balance and form was good. Ailments. Some signs of cramping on the left calf muscle. Perhaps not enough stretching on the bike? Gear worked flawless. Still clicking noises when grinding out of the saddle. NO surprise there as I didn't do much since the last time I serviced the BB. Other notes, I saw 2 cyclists and a convoy of sports cars on my way to SS. People seemed to be in good spirits today.
