I wanted to do a recovery ride today, so the Buffalo Run seemed ideal. When I got up from my morning nap, I noticed that the fog rolled in. I was tempted to scratch the ride and hop on the trainer, but ended up riding outdoors. For good measure I put two tail lights on today. I wore the standard winter kit. It was around 50 degrees when I got out with winds from the North West. It kept my plenty warm. The legs felt pretty good to start. By the time I turned the corner on Mariposa, most of the fog had lifted. I made my way up OTR. I made it to the summit of OTR in good average time. From there, I headed up Highline and then around the Buffalo Neighborhood. I hopped back on Highline and then to OTR for the return. The descent was nice. I pushed over Mariposa and then to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. The morale felt pretty good to start. I had few lapses and no gremlins worth mentioning. Balance and form felt good. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast and half a banana with grapes before departing. I drank half my sport drink and a few sips of water. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, I saw one familiar recumbent cyclist and a walker.
