The weather remains on the cold side. Partly cloudy. In the mid 50’s or so. Winds from the North West. A perfect day to go to Keene. I wore the standard winter kit.
The legs felt ok to start. I made it to the summit of the descent in average time. I cruised the downhill. No heroics since I was going into a headwind. I made it to the base in average time. After reaching the base, I headed back up the mountain. No stopping. The landmarks came and went. I had my music going and it helped. After reaching the last dip, I was feeling better. I was doing in and out of the saddle efforts. I guessed the number of songs it would take to reach the summit. I was pretty close. After cresting the summit, I took a few moments to recover and then headed back home. I shut it down at the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. I had stuff to think about. The morale as on the positive side. Minimal lapses, no gremlins. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Just the usual hand soreness. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal, half a banana and some grapes for breakfast and part of a banana before departing. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, I saw one cyclist on his way back as I was descending down to Keene. Could have been Corry.
