The weather is fantastic now. Nice and cool, in the low 60's, winds from the North West. A great day to go to the farmlands and back. I wore arms, knees, head cap, face mask around the neck, thick base layer and some newspaper in the jersey. I ended up swapping my leg warmers and jacket at the last minute. Turned out to be the right decision. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the top of OTR in good average time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation. I was near max going over the top. I recovered on the flats and finished the climb. I made it to the top in good average time. After recovering for a few moments, I headed down the mountain. It was safe with minimal traffic from behind. There was a slight headwind, so it acted as a brake. It kept it safe. I made my way around the farmlands aided by a tail or tail-cross wind most of the time. I passed Boss Hogs in just over an hour. So, I did good time up until then. The last climb went as planned. I was doing in and out of the saddle efforts maintaining moderate or better tempo. After cresting the summit, I pulled over to feed. I fed a Clif Bar with water. Shortly after, I got back on the road and headed to Route 202. Route 202 had traffic from behind, so I let them by before making my way to OTR. Descending off OTR was mostly fun and games. I pushed over Mariposa and the dig to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. I was in the zone most of the time. The morale felt good. No gremlins worth mentioning. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. Some hand soreness here and there. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal and half a banana for breakfast and a few grapes before departing. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, no cyclists today. There were some walkers.
