The weather is great. It's on the cool side, but warm enough that I didn't have to wear many layers. I wore arms, knees, thick base layer, and newspaper in the jersey. I had a Dr.'s appointment in the morning, so that delayed my ride till the afternoon. The GPS wasn't charged, so I charged it for about 15 or so minutes before departing. I ended up connecting it to a battery bank until I reached the base of the climb. The legs felt pretty good to start. The wind was going the right way. I made it to the summit of the descent in good average time. I cruised the downhill and put in two digs on the risers. After making it to the base, I headed back. I stopped at the Chavez Center to remove the newspaper in the jersey. From there, it was non-stop climbing. The climb went quick and felt good. I had a nice tailwind on the way up and the air was nice and cool. I felt better after the first and second dip. After making it to the summit, I took a few moments to recover and headed back home. I shut it down after the dig to the top of Weston.
Concentration was good. I was in the zone most of the time and I had a few things to think about. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal, just the usual hand soreness. The muscles and joints felt good. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast and a banana, grapes and half a Clif Bar before departing. I drank most of my sport drink, no water. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, no cyclists today. There was a small crowd at the Loop Monument when I was descending. A train passed through during my round trip.
