To be fair, one of the three or four weather sites consulted did say it was likely to start raining about 2 pm; the others? After 5, they said.
So the ride started at 1 and yeah, by about 3pm or so the sprinkling started. By the time we left the towpath and started climbing (about mile 27) it became a bit more persistent. Finally the roads were wet enough that you needed to hunt for pavement that didn't cause rooster tails of spray. Oddly, under trees that overhang the roads it was dry.
These shenanigans continued for the ride. We probably shoulda coulda bailed onto MD 107 and cut it short, but it's a busy highway -- though people do cycle on it -- and even with light rain, probably dangerous. Soooooo.... we got wet.
Didn't really get cold until we stopped at the end and then we had dry clothes to put on. Coulda been a LOT worse, but also was a reminder that riding in the rain, even a light rain, ain't high on bucket list.
Really started pushing hard at 27 figuring the less time in the rain the better. The legs/body/contact points held up, but will definitely be tired/sore tomorrow. REST DAY!

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time.
