Probably the earliest in the year we've ridden 50 miles but these OGs have never been non-working and on an allowance before, either. So not only fiddy miles but on a non-holiday Monday as well. Could get used to this life ... Cool-ish day, with temps never reaching 70, but sunny and not terribly windy, so good enough. Scheduled and made sure to complete two rest stops at 18 and 36, which probably had a lot to do with the end not being a death march. Legs felt pretty good, given all the riding the last seven days. Contact points held up (again, the rests were critical -- we have not in the past been good about stopping) though were pretty tired by the end. Riding companion had momentary cramps a few hundred yards from the park entrance but seem to recover nicely. No cramps in these legs and they weren't dead logs either (the second part of the bike-mower biathlon was completed without issues). More relieved to get off the bike for the contact points. w/Dan
