Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

The weather today was much warmer than the previous ride. Blue skies and in the low 60's. Perfect day for a ride! My legs were a bit heavy to start. I put it in modest cruise control to the top of the descent. I soft-pedaled most of the way down, getting out of the saddle only where necessary. I made it to the base in average time. The ascent was pleasant. The low temperate was just right. I had no signs of overheating or excess exhaustion from the air temperature. I did moderate tempo for most of the climb. I put in a modest dig over the loop monument. No heroics after that. My concentration was good for the most part. Some lapses here and there, but no biggy. Ailments were under control. Exhaustion, and maybe a sore left hip for a few moments. Balance was good. Better on the descent than the ascent. Gear is working well. I was able to sync my HR monitor to my smartphone and had it track my exercise at the same time with the Garmin Edge 705. It looks very accurate. More investigating on that later. Other notes, the Edge 705 seems to be running out of batteries prematurely. I left it on after resetting it to the factory default settings and it displayed a "low battery" message after 5:30 hrs. It's supposed to last over 10 hrs on a single charge. Garmin has a trade in offer. $110 towards a new unit when returning a defective one. I'm not sure what I'm going to do at the moment. But I need a cycling computer that I can rely on for 8+ hours.
