The weather has warmed up slightly. It was around 70 degrees when I departed. Winds from the North West. I wore arms, thick base layer and some newspaper in the jersey. I brought an extra water bottle. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the summit in good average time. I found a spot in the bushes to stash the extra water bottle. I cruised the downhill. I put in two digs on the risers. I made it to the base in good time. After reaching the base, I removed the newspaper from my jersey, stashed it in my saddle bag and headed back up the mountain. The miles went quick. I had stuff to think about. I had a modest tailwind and the air was on the cool side. I kept my tempo steady while doing in and out of the saddle efforts. I guessed the number of songs to the summit. That kept me distracted. I was near max going over the top. After cresting the summit, I grabbed the stashed bottle and took a few moments to recover. From there I headed to OTR. OTR felt good. The legs were warmed up and the morale was good. I didn't pay attention to time. After reaching the summit, I pulled over to feed. I fed a Clif Bar with some water. From there, I headed back home. I pushed over Maripos and to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. I had stuff to think about, the morale felt good. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal, just the usual hand soreness. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal, a banana, and some grapes for breakfast. Gear worked flawlessly, although the rear brakes started to rub when I was on my way back from OTR. Other notes, I saw a familiar cyclist on my way down to Keene and again as I was on my way home from OTR.
