I decided to combine rides today. The weather is very nice. In the 70's, winds from the North West. I wore the standard summer kit with a thick base layer and arm shades. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the end of OTR in good average time. The Banducci Wall had some traffic mitigation. There was more traffic mitigation for the remainder of the climb, so I was using the shoulder as best I could to let traffic by. I reached the summit in average time. I let traffic by then I headed to the Alpine Forest (reverse). I entered from the backside. The gradient was in the double digits. I used my lowest gear and tacked my way up the climb. I felt pretty good. I made my way around the backside and then down hill to Banducci for the return. Descending off the Banducci Wall was safe. Minimal traffic and into a slight and steady headwind. I made my way up Highline aided by a nice tailwind. I went around the Buffalo Neighborhood and then back to Highline for the return. The descent off OTR was enjoyable. I pushed over Mariposa and then to the to of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. I had stuff to think about. I was a bit impatient till I reached Banducci. Nutrition was good. I had a bowl of oatmeal, half a banana and some grapes for breakfast. Balance and form felt good. Ailments were minimal. My right knee was hinting on soreness before departing, but it felt good during the ride. It feels fine now. That and the usual hand soreness. Gear worked flawlessly. Perhaps a hint of brake rub here and there. Other notes, I saw one cyclist. We crossed paths twice.
