The weather is ideal. About 70 degrees. Winds from the North West. I wore the standard summer kit with arm warmers and a thick base layer. The legs felt pretty good to start. My right hip feels much better now. My right lower back muscle was hurting when I got up from my morning nap. As I was hoping, it felt better on the ride. I made it to the top of WTR in good average time. I stashed my bottle in the bushed before heading down to Keene. I cruised the downhill and put in two digs on the risers. After reaching the base, I headed back without hesitation. The climbing legs were there today. I had a nice tailwind and the temperature was on the cool side. I didn't overheat with my arm warmers on. The landmarks went quick. After passing the Loop Monument on the return, felt better in the morale. There were some friendly people at the Loop. I was doing in and out of the saddle efforts for the duration of the climb. My right sit bone was hinting on soreness. It felt like I was pinching a nerve. So, I was favoring out of the saddle efforts because of this. After reaching the summit, I grabbed the bottle that I stashed in the bushes and then headed to OTR. OTR went quick. I was warmed up, so finding that sweet spot was easy. I decided to add the Buffalo Run since I was feeling good and I wanted to put that extra mile in for the Spring into Action competition that is ending tomorrow. The Buffalo Run went as usual. I had a nice tailwind on the way up Highline, so it went quick. After making my way back to OTR, I pulled over to feed a Clif Bar with some water. After feeding, I decided to swap out the GoPro battery. After that, I headed down OTR. I stopped once because I noticed that my camera was refusing to record. Turned out that I lost the Micro SD card. No clue where. I am guessing I dropped it at the top of OTR when I swapped out the battery. I plan on driving back there to see if I can find it. I pushed over Mariposa and then to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. I had stuff to think about and the morale was good. Balance and form was good. Ailments were minimal. My hands were numb from time to time while grinding out of the saddle. I had nerve pain on the right sit bone for a while. It got better and went mostly away after cresting the Keene summit. Nutrition was good. I fed a Clif Bar with some water. I drank all of my sport drink. Glad I brought the extra bottle of water. I had oatmeal and half a banana for breakfast. Gear worked flawlessly. Other notes, there were friendly people at the Loop Monument. I saw one cyclist in the distance as I was making my way back on Highline.
