The weather has let up. It's cloudy, in the 50's. Winds from the North West. I wore the standard winter kit with short finger gloves. The legs felt ok to start. Perhaps a bit on the heavy side. My right hip was a bit sore in the beginning. It got better as the ride progressed. I plan on going to Caliente on Saturday, so I put in an easy ride. I made it to the summit of OTR in average time. I took it easy to the top of Highline and around the Buffalo neighborhood. Descending off OTR was relaxing. There was a car from behind nearing the left turn onto Mariposa. It was safe. I pushed over Mariposa and to the top of Weston where I shut it down.
Concentration was good. I had stuff to think about. The morale felt good. Perhaps a hint of anxiety here and there. Balance and form felt good. Ailments were minimal. My right hip was most noticeable. It got better. That and the usual hand soreness. Nutrition was good. I had oatmeal and half a banana for breakfast. I drank about 1/4th of my sport drink, no water. Gear worked flawlessly. The leg warmers exhibited the usual riding down the leg issue. I stopped once at the top of OTR to adjust them. They held up after that. Other notes, I saw one cyclist.
