We were both feeling pretty good after 5+ miles of Ten Mile Creek, so we added the "Danger Noodle" loop and its climbing to our fun. One of us (not your intrepid correspondent) decided that a KOM attempt was in order starting about 7.25 and so off he went up those terrible switchbacks and ... disappeared. Those of us 50-60 lbs heavier decided nah, let's not, in fact, we'll wait til the back-to-back descents (and berms baby!) to make up ground. That we did, catching mr. lightweight mountain climber guy at 8.5... Mass ... there is no substitute (when going downhill)... Legs were good the whole day (if a bit slow on the climbs) and the body seems to be coming around again after too many days off. Lovely day, temps in the 70s, not much of a breeze, humidity extremely low.
