A full week of rain every day, often just light, but still skywater all the same ended late yesterday. Deliberately waited til later in the day to try the trails, figuring they might dry even more.
Annnnd that was mostly true. A coupla wet spots in unexpected places, such as the meadow crossing just before Muncaster Road (17.6).
Avoided a section of paved trail that is not much fun and is simply a way to get into the Lake Frank area, by taking a trail at 8.4 that climbs pretty much straight up the dam of that lake. There was some hike-a-bike where it was simply too rooty and rocky to ride up, but it is DEFINITELY rideable in the other direction. Pretty sure this discovery will replace the stupid loop south to Norbeck Road. This new way is of course not sanctioned.
The new bridge across the creek under the MD200 (ICC) bridge is finished and all the equipment and trash has been removed. No more wet feet!
Followed the track the equipment made up to the paved North Rock Creek trail, mainly out of curiosity. The trail up from the creek, however, is a mess and will need some re-grading (and water bars) soon.
Rest of the trail through there is becoming very overgrown and will soon need clipped and mowed.
It appears that a week off riding has caused whatever conditioning was achieved on the GAP ride to fade away. Body was pretty tired at the end, though the legs held up well and had no trouble climbing (other than the aforementioned unsanctioned whateverItWas). Even had some contact point trouble!
The answer for that is what it always is: MORE RIDING.

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
