2026/08/01 Front Tour Day 5

Armentiers to Bully Les Mines
This was my second day on the front line and the enormity of the tragic event is really sinking in. The WW1 cemeteries are too numerous to stop at every one, so I’m concentrating on those that are different.
I was very hot too so I missed a couple of Australian sites I’d planned to see, thus making my trip shorter.
Hosts were very accomodating but I left the large bag of walnuts they gave me - behind in the morning.

Another batch of very interesting pictures well done Pete, with exception of the geezer from Monty Python!!!
That baguette looked worth the wait. The main difference in their bread is the wheat its so different from UK, plus their cooking method.
Your tent drying out kit looked interesting and your last destination site looked like the lap of luxury.
The Google fact sheet on Australian heaviest defeat is quite chilling.

    Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.

  • TCX History

    Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.

  • GPX Track (.gpx)

    Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
