Final day in Europe. The French Camp ground was superb and run like clockwork. Strange though in neither French campsite did they provide toilet paper. Luckily I’ve been carrying and emergency supply.
I got up at 4:30am to make sure I wouldn’t miss the ferry due to leave at 12pm. Packing up in the dark was a challenge but it was light enough by the time I left to make sure I hadn’t left anything behind.
The rail trail was superb and riding in the early morning I witnessed a pleasant sunrise over the Normandy country side. I think I wore my wind proof jacket for the first time in Europe for an hour or so.
Dieppe was nice and I think I finished on a high visiting the possibly the best Boulangerie of the whole trip for breakfast.
The boat trip was fine although it did roll a little. However, when I got off there was a howling gale and after getting some food at Waitrose, I had a gruelling ride up hill against the wind for several kms before getting to the - very English - campsite.
