Time for Day 3 and another dry day and challenging day of shifting. I was really starting to not like my bike during this day! SO many up & down. This was a tough day.
Mile 30 out at Sodus Point was cool! Stopped at a port-o-pot at city park near the point. Very old settlement.
Here some other folks passed me that started some leap frogging.
Over to mile 43 where finding the year a fire tower was built, next to this falls, was a challenge Then off to Oswego and what I thought was going to be a cool light house.
Finally at mi 67 I could see Oswego and then a mile later were a couple volunteers that told me a small light house was a few miles back. I never saw it if it was. Then up through SUNY Oswego into uptown and a stop for some food mi 69.8 at Byrne Dairy. Which by now I found how to get the ice cream cones. Byrne has small burgers, clean bathrooms, and a water fountain near soda machines or near bathrooms. Good places to stop at Byrne Dairy.
At mile 70, just across the river at Oswego, that road was nasty with traffic an no shoulder. I suggest we use a different road in here. The rest of the road down south to Phoenix, NY, mi 93 was good to ride.
Then the long stretch of rollers back west to Webster! That took forever to get to mile 162 at the end.
I was leap frogging with a rider all the way from Phoenix, NY. Near the end he was 3/4 miles ahead of me as I could see his tail lights. Then around mi 140 I passed the japanese cyclist and he followed me the rest of the way in! He never ever went to the front, but just stayed a couple yards behind me, like he was uncertain where he was going.
Cool part was that around mi 155 we started seeing fireworks off to our left side as a small village display of about 20 minutes was going on. Cool. We did ride through a bunch of fireworks smoke.
