Today was a bit cold and foggy. Probably in the low 50's and winds from the north. I wore 2 base layers, arms, knees, cap and face mask. It was cold for the first 5 minutes. By the time I reached the top of WTR, I was nice and cozy. It was foggy for the first half of the descent. Then it dispersed shortly after reaching the monument. I soft-pedaled the entire downhill. My legs felt good from the start. Perhaps a little heavy out the door and for the first 10 minutes. My legs felt good as I started the climb back up the mountain. The air was nice and cool. I didn't have to remove any layers, so I was perfectly comfortable. I did good tempo up most of the climb. Some moderate to keep it in the zone. My concentration was spot on, no gremlins in the mind. Balance was spot on as well, I was on top of the pedals for the greater part of the ride. Ailments consisted of a sore lower back. I was stretching on the down hill sections. That seemed to help. But it persisted all the way over the summit. I adjusted my tempo accordingly, but was in no danger of coming to a stand still. Gear is working great. I forgot to start the Gopro as I started the descent. I wanted to capture it while going through the fog line.
