Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

The weather is getting colder. In the 40's today. I got my clothing wrong. I was about to depart with my winter kit, + jacket. At the last moment, I decided to remove my jacket and throw on a thick base layer. Turns out that I should have kept it on. I was a bit on the cold side for the duration of the ride. The legs felt good from the start. The wind was a bit turbulent. I was sufficiently warmed up by the time I reached the end of OTR. I had a modest headwind, on the way out to WS. I kept the tempo moderate. After reaching WS, I turned around and headed back. No stopping. The wind was on my back, at this point. I was calculating that I was going about 30% faster on the return leg, compared to the out-bound. The miles went quick. I was able to put in some digs over the summit. Using push and pull technique. As soon as I reached the summit, the wind shifted. I was now going into a headwind, and I was hoping for the opposite. I kept my head down, to block the cold wind from hitting my chest. Half way up the last riser to Banducci, the GoPro camera battery gave out. I stopped to swap out the batteries and headed back on the road. From there, it was cold mitigation. Trying to stay on the warm side by getting low, on the bike. After making it over Mariposa, it was mostly fun and games. Concentration was good, some hints of gremlins. This time of the day as the latest I can depart. Will likely note that, and depart at least 1 hour earlier on the next ride. Balance and form was good. Ailments, some mild right knee soreness that dissipated as the ride went on. Gear worked good. The GoPro has the habit of stopping when I swap batteries out. It requires a reboot to get it back up and running. At least its a consistent bug. Other notes, no other cyclists. There were some gliders flying at WS.
