Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Another great spring day. Winds from the south. Temperature in the 60's. Given the wind conditions I decided to do an Improv ride. My legs felt good. I did moderate tempo through OTR and to the top of Highline. There was a nice tailwind going up Banducci, I did moderate to good tempo. I cruised the downhill, mostly soft-pedalling. When I reached WTR, I increased the tempo to high and did a bit of a kick to the summit. Concentration was real good today, almost no gremlins, but the important thing was that I had few lapses of concentration. Ailments were basically none. Balance was very good. Gear is working well. Other notes, there was another cyclist doing the similar route as I was. I passed him on Highline, then again coming back on Banducci. He looked to be as fit as I was.
