Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

I decided to ride indoors to try a new Indoor training app. I tried Rouvy for the first time. Setup was quick. I forgot to pair my HR sensor, so I had to stop, pair and restart. Other than that, it was easy to get everything paired. This app is based on real-life video recordings. I was able to use their Augmented Reality (AR) feature. This lets the app project fictitious riders onto the road. I was fiddling with the settings for the first 15 minutes. Trying to see the different camera angles and metrics. The metrics are fixed. It doesn't show your W/kg rating, unless you bring up the metrics screen, and that blocks the view of the live video. It took me about 30 to 45 minutes to feel the legs bringing to life. I think I turned the fan on too soon. Probably should have let the body sweat first. After I began to perspire, I was able to settle into a sustainable tempo. As for the camera angle, I ended up liking the view from behind my avatar. It gave me something to focus on. I'm not sure how the fictitious riders work yet. I was passing riders, but I had no clue who they were, or what wattage they were putting out. Nor the distance ahead or behind anyone. The quality of the video was great. I ended up downloading the map before riding. After about 1/2 way, I kept reminding myself that I want to get to the finish to see what it's like. The climbs were somewhat stair step in sensation. You go up for a while, the road levels off, you go downhill, then go back up hill for a while. Rinse and repeat. The bots were catching me on the downhill, as they usually do. Either my trainer isn't calibrated, or something else, because I spin out on the downhills, while in the biggest gear. Concentration was good. I found my zone after bringing my avatar to the third person perspective. Ailments... I was clumsy and nearly hit the deck while dismounting. Put a slight bruise on the shin. No damage done. The knees were a bit sore on a few occasions, it never escalated. Balance and form was reasonably good. Gear worked flawless. Other notes, there are many maps. Perhaps the next one will be on that has less than 2k of riding and about 1 hour in duration.
