Today's ride was a mixture of things. First, the weather. Cloudy, in the low 50's and strong winds from the north-west. I wore 2 base layers, arms, knees and (eventually) my cap. My legs felt a bit heavy in the first 4-5 miles. I decided to take it easy today. Doing moderate tempo most of the ride and never going anaerobic, including the Banducci wall. The head-wind was strong in CV going to SS. I think I was averaging no more than 15-16mph. It was a welcome relief when I reached SS. From that point on, I was able to keep the tempo well within my limits. I had no intentions of heroics. All together it was a good average ride. Concentration was average at best. I was having to coach myself through some sections. A few lapses in concentration here and there. I kind of knew that it was going to be that way. It felt like an off day today. Nevertheless, I made it home in one piece and that''s what counts the most. Ailments were next to none. Balance was good. I was able to hone in my form. Gear is working flawless. I have to lube my cleats for the next ride. I need to check the charge level on the Di2 battery.
