The good weather just keeps on coming! Fantastic! in the low 70's/upper 60's with the winds from the north and partly cloudy. I wore 1 base layer. I felt real good from the start. It became apparent to me that I was doing good time when I reached the end of OTR. I commenced climbing Banducci with some caution. When I reached the top of the wall, I was feeling good in the legs. I recovered on the flats and gave it a good tempo up the remainder of the climb. I reached the summit in good time. The downhill was mostly fun and games. When I reached the base, I did moderate tempo till I reached the farm lands. From that point I increased the tempo. I was ahead of schedule when I reached the entrance of SS. I past the tunnel in under 1:00. My legs were still good so I decided to keep pushing. I held a good tempo coming back on the farmlands. I reached Boss Hogs well under 1:20. I was cautious on the last climb. I wasn't sure how much I had left. When I reached the summit, I gave it a push over the top and recovered on the flats. When I reached route 202, I stopped to let traffic go and the rest was fun and games. Ailments consisted of some soreness in the left leg. I can't explain it, but the sensation was sharp pain. I had to back off the tempo to let it subside. My lower back was sore, I was constantly stretching and that mitigated the problem. Concentration was spot on. I was in the zone for most of the ride. Balance and Form was real good. Gear is working well, no problems there. Other notes, I've been working out my upper body more than usual and I feel that it is giving me more support when pulling on the handlebars. More specifically, pull-ups and over-head weight training. I saw 1 other cyclist as I was returning from CVR.
