Started an hour later than wanted to, so got into too much heat of the day, which sapped my strength, not to mention 1st ride in 4 weeks - no way to ride, will be hard to hit 2020 in 2020 @ this rate, between clinic stress & INCREASED hours in corona protocol (& vacation season for everybody else), rainy weather, preparing to move 2 households, etc., it is hard to get rides in. Going to have to assert self as practice owner & start taking Thursday afternoons off for a chance for a ride. And start weekday Oakvale AM rides w/ Henry. Danny got here to RGUMChurch after I left, parked next to me, I imagine he headed to Narrows. Theme for photos today was farmers making hay while we had a dry stretch of sunny days. And how come there is more bottle, can, box, etc trash by the side of the road, than there are wildflowers - took pics just of latter to cheer up Katy who is feeling g sick, & perhaps has atypical 'rona, but will NOT submit to a nasal swab... Original plan was to get lunch @ Matties in Burkes Garden, to imitate a masonry crew we had working on our 1st clinic site 19+ years ago, would leave @ noon on Thursday's for lunch. In Myrtle Beach. From Princeton. Wouldn't see them again till Monday. Long way to bike for lunch today, legs just too heavy, sore, crampy, & slow to do 1 more set of climbs in & out of the bowl. (Got passed going up back side of Kimberling like I was standing still by 2 gentlemen well older than me!) Stopped @ the HATEFUL convenience store in Gratton to restock hydration, & - guess what - no public RR. Grrr. Do the Garden another day, & will NOT stop @ that store. Probably the last of the 17-yr cicadas heard & seen today, sluggish & dying. Will be 81 next time seen!? Hope our country can pull together to see that event still. Happy July 4th- enjoy family, friends, food & fireworks (higher in Princeton tonight) safely & socially distanced! A difficult ride leaving me completely spent is still better than a Saturday morning @ the clinic...
