Nice way to end 2020. This ride begins from the Happy Valley Library off 147th and Sunnyside. The route goes to highway 212 and then east into Boring. Highway 212 is not very biker-friendly, although there is a much better shoulder going east from Damascus. Ride through Boring, across the highway 26 overpass (becomes SE Compton Road), eventually coming out at Bluff Rd. The route makes a loop here by using Bluff Rd, Cottrell Rd and Dodge Park Blvd (the Orient segment). The ride returns to Boring, but then heads south on Richey Rd and Amsigger Rd, coming out at highway 224 a little east of Barton.
Do not recommend riding 224 west of Barton. The safer way is to get on Baker's Ferry Rd and take this to Springwater Rd. Cross the bridge near the Carver boat ramp and continue to the light at highway 212. Need to be careful here, but it is a lot safer than it used to be. The route is on 212 for about 1/4 mile and then goes left on 152nd for another hill. The ride ends by taking Oregon Trail Ave. back to the library.
