This ride starts from the Alsea Library. Did the route counter-clockwise, riding the highway 34 part first. This is a 19.8 mile stretch with some rollers and one half-mile long hill. Need to be careful on this part due to portions of limited to no shoulder. Fortunately, traffic was not that bad today.
At 19.8 miles, turn left on Five Rivers Road. Ride this for 3 miles to a short bridge. Continuing straight eventually goes to Fischer and then the Fischer covered bridge. Went left today, onto Lobster Valley Road. This is a 12 mile stretch with little to no traffic. There was still plenty of debris from the recent wind storm. In fact, 10 miles down the road there was a fallen big tree that took out some powerlines.
The final 10 miles is on Alsea-Deadwood highway. There is a 1 mile climb, followed by a short descent and then a 1.5 mile climb to the summit. After a two mile descent, the final 4 miles to highway 34 are easy. Turn right and return to the library.
