It's windy out, but not too cold. I had an appointment in the morning, so I had to eat second breakfast about 1 hour prior to today's ride. The legs felt pretty good to start. I made it to the summit of WTR in good time. The downhill was a bit dangerous, but fun nonetheless. I hit 43 MPH as I was nearing the bottom of the Loop. I forgot to check my time when I reached the base. No doubt a quick time. All of which was lost on the uphill into the wind. I didn't stop to take gear off. I was perfectly comfortable. Didn't feel like I was going to overheat. I knew I was going to be facing severe wind conditions, so I kept the tempo steady. And I put it in my 32T whenever needed. I put in my mind that I just had make it past the steepest parts, and then I'll have a better ride afterwards. I pulled over once nearing the summit to take photos of the local horses. I stopped once more to check my phone because I heard it ring twice as I was on my way back. Concentration was good. The morale felt good and I had a project to think about. Gear worked perfect. Balance and form was good. Nutrition was good. I had about half my Gatorade and no water. Ailments, some hand soreness. My left shin feels good. No soreness today. Other notes, there were tourists at the Loop Monument. A train was stopped in the middle of the loop. Excellent for the people to watch.
